Headshot and Branding Portfolio

Every photograph on this site is one Kay Choi made, of a real client, in a real room. There is no stock, no licensed imagery and nothing generated. These are the bodies of work the studio returns to most often, grouped by the kind of person in front of the camera.

The bodies of work

  • Healthcare — the largest body of work. Physicians, dentists, nurses, clinical pharmacists and aesthetic practitioners, photographed in hospitals, clinics and treatment rooms as often as in the studio.
  • Executives — leadership portraits for annual reports, investor materials, press pages and speaking bios, shot in boardrooms, atriums and against controlled studio backgrounds.
  • Founders and business owners — people whose face and company are the same thing, photographed in the showrooms, studios, offices and workshops they built.

Alongside those: consultants and advisers, attorneys, therapists, realtors, politicians, authors, artists, performers and whole teams photographed in a single visit.

Why the captions say so little

A caption on this site names a chapter — healthcare providers, executives, business owners — and sometimes where a frame was made. It never names the person, their role or their institution.

That is deliberate. Kay's clients are physicians, executives and owners whose photographs exist to do a job on their own websites, not to advertise a photographer. Naming them turns a commission into a testimonial nobody agreed to give, and in healthcare it edges toward implying an endorsement.

It has a cost in marketing terms and it is worth paying. What you can judge from these pages is the only thing that actually matters when you are choosing a photographer: whether the light, the direction and the expressions are consistently good.
